February is bitter sweet.
February brings a lot of emotions, mainly we get to celebrate 56-years in business. I found a Department of Revenue Certificate dated February 1, 1966. “Bruce Wilson, Photographer”. It’s hard to believe it’s been 56-years serving Central Fl. As a second-generation photographer I had the privilege to work with my father for over 30-years. It was an honor and privilege to work side by side with him for so many years. He was a Godly man, never heard an unkind word about anyone.
February is the month of the birth of our first child “Ally”, 23-years ago. She is so much like her mother…She is so artistic; Ally could be a gifted photographer if she chose to do so.
Each February we look forward to the KVLS Fair and Rodeo that we have been a part of for over 4-decades. Did you know that Kathy, my wife, was Miss Silver Spurs Queen 1979?
Unfortunately, my father went home on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. It’s difficult to believe that it has been 4-years now. I pass by his office every day, just the way he left it. We get to celebrate 56-years as a small business and we get to reflect on my father’s 77-year-long legacy. Our daughter will be 23-years and who knows what lies ahead?
My father was a good role model as a father, grandfather, husband and mentor. I have big shoes to fill. Thank you, Dad, love you, until we meet again.
I’m so glad we have portraits to remember him by.
